Description of Award: The University Diversity Committee (UDC) is accepting nominations for the annual University Diversity Award. Established in 1996, the purpose of the award is to recognize individuals (faculty, staff, administrators, students, departments and community members) for their significant contributions to further the cause of diversity and multiculturalism at CSUSB.

In addition to a beautifully engraved commemorative token of the award, each campus recipient will be awarded a $300 travel grant, a free one-year campus parking pass, and will have his or her name added to the Diversity Perpetual Plaque.

 
 

Instructions: In a separate written statement, please describe why this person merits your nomination. Nominators are urged to supply additional support from others who may know about the nominee's contributions to diversity and multiculturalism. Provide specific examples that illustrate:

  1. The nominee's long-term commitment to the value of diversity or multiculturalism, as demonstrated in areas outside the job. (Cite specific examples.)
  2. The nominee's long-term commitment to the value of diversity or multiculturalism, as demonstrated by documented efforts above and beyond the normal expectations of the job. (Cite specific examples.)
  3. Creation, development, promotion, organization and significant participation in events or programs that focus on diversity or multiculturalism.
  4. Educational efforts in matters of diversity or multiculturalism that include innovative curricular programs/opportunities.
